So I saw Dunkirk around a week ago with a bunch of AH.commers and enjoyed it. I wrote my thoughts here and a friend of mine wrote his own thoughts here.

I thought it was a good Movie but I felt that it was a bit small in Scope compared to the massive and extended Battle it was in real life. It was also a bit confusing to keep track of what was happening from time to time, which at this point is kind of expected from Nolan.

I think the small scale worked in this case - made it more personal and scarier.

To be blunt that sounds like a load of crap. Haven't seen the film myself but you appear to have a lot of people moaning because assorted groups, most of which were present in very small numbers, weren't clearly visible on the screen. In real life priority was originally given to British troops [don't think there were any commonwealth units in France at the time] but when news of that reached London it was made clear that allied [French and any Belgium units still fighting] be given equal priority and a large number of French troops were evacuated. The last bit about it being racism propaganda at the end seems especially to go off the deep end. The Guardian used to be a fairly balanced source of information but that article is basically a racist and anti-British rant of the sort that the hard line EU fanatics have indulged in so often in the last couple of decades instead of serious discussion. Until recently with Britexit and the referendum there doesn't seem to have been the same level of hostility towards Britain in continental Europe itself .

I have seen a lot of SJW moan about how this Movie is sexist and racist, because God forbid a Movie about Dunkirk should focus on a bunch of white guys.

I agree with you. This left wing whining about it fundamentally misunderstands the movie, and by placing themselves as the be-all and end-all arbiter of culture are only going to piss off tremendous amounts of people
