Has anyone here seen Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets?
I went on Saturday and I thought it was quite the interesting movie. It had some plot issues, mostly pertaining to how some throwaway lines for exposition could have helped dramatically, but overall it was good. It had a lot of amazing CGI and had very good worldbuilding. The actor who played Valerian could be bland, and the actress who played Laureline was much better.

I haven't watched it but from what I heard the plot is a bit of a mess and the two main characters have no chemistry whatsoever. But the cinematography is supposed to look good.

I wouldn't say the former is true. Some of the writing can be a bit iffy but overall I thought it worked. Visually the movie is stunning. |
