So, done With this batch too. In the end, the Hr.Ms. Eendracht ended up becoming a Soerabaja-class guided missile cruiser and three of four Marlijn-class submarines are now in service.

Yes, and beside that there is the collapse of the Soviet Union, the second Space race as the US, Europe and Japan rush to establish colonies on other planets, Japan possibly opening up to the world, the war on terrorism, the EU and its troubles, reforms in the Dutch empire, and the possibility of years of war against the Romulans and Klingons.

Yes, and beside that there is the collapse of the Soviet Union, the second Space race as the US, Europe and Japan rush to establish colonies on other planets, Japan possibly opening up to the world, the war on terrorism, the EU and its troubles and the possibility of years of war against the Romulans. Not only the Romulans, another Empire will show up before the end of 1990.

Nope, not going to happen, the Netherlands values its relationship with the United Kingdom. Well, the Philipines, India or Australia might want as defence against a possible Japanese attack. Though for Australia, keeping the DEI Dutch would be the best defence against Japan.

January 3rd United States President Gerald Ford signs a directive for secret aid to the opponents of Afghanistan's government.
January 5th KNRS Den Haag arrives at the Ventures Idrilon system (Ferengi system) after traveling eight days to get there. After entering orbit of the fourth planet in the system which houses the seat of government for the Ferengi Alliance, the ship establish contact with Twam, the Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance. After congratulating the captain of the Ferengi ship that discovered humanity, Twam informs the captain of the KNRS Den Haag that he has pay one hundred slips of gold-pressed latinum for an parking fee before his ship is allowed to orbit the planet.
After a couple of hours of waiting and much grumbling about being robbed blind at this trip, a Dutch delegation is allowed to meet with the Grand Nagus himself. Using a shuttle they fly towards the capitol building where they meet with Grand Nagus Twam. After a couple of hours of discussion the Dutch delegation, after repeatedly explaining that they are not going to sell their ship to the Ferengi Alliance, a deal is made were the Ferengi Alliance can send a delegation to travel onboard the KNRS Den Haag which will head back to the Alpha Centauri system after it has completed its visit to the Venturas Idrilon system.
January 11th The Japanese Honda Motor Company announces that it will build Japan's first passenger-car assembly plant in Wuhan, China-Nanking.
January 12th After seven days of orbiting the Ferengi homeworld, the KNRS Den Haag departs the Venturas Idrilon system and begins her journey back towards the Alpha Centauri system. Also onboard the ship is a Ferengi delegation who are going to meet with the governor of Alpha Centauri.
January 18th After traveling eight days, the KNRS Den Haag arrives in the Alpha Centauri system and thus brings the first Dutch contact with the Ferengi Alliance to an end.
January 20th The Ferengi delegation meets with the governor of Alpha Centauri, the Dutch State Secretary of Foreign Affairs (a junior member of the cabinet), ambassador of the Confederacy of Vulcan and the ambassador of the Andorian Empire in Nieuw Batavia.
January 21st The Ferengi delegation visit the Alpha Centauri Nationale Handelsbank located in Nieuw Batavia, where they meet with the president of the largest (and only) bank on Proxima Centauri b.
January 24th A Ferengi who is part of the Ferengi delegation is arrested by the police after attempting to bribe his way onto Nieuw Batavia space force base (1). After meeting with the Chief of Police (Hoofdcommissaris) of the Alpha Centauri Police, the head of the Ferengi delegation agrees that the Ferengi in question is placed under house arrest for the duration of the visit to Proxima Centauri b.
January 26th Israel and Egypt establish diplomatic relations.
Despite the incident at Nieuw Batavia space force base, the six day visit of the Ferengi delegation to Proxima Centauri b comes to an positive end when the delegation boards the KNRS Den Haag which will take them back to the Ferengi homeworld.
February 3rd KNRS Den Haag arrives for the second time at the Venturas Idrilon system (Ferengi system) and returns the Ferengi delegation that had spent six days visiting Proxima Centauri b.
February 7th The KNRS Den Haag departs the Venturas Idrilon system and begins her eight day journey back to the Alpha Centauri system. While no new Ferengi delegation is onboard, an agreement was made between the Netherlands and the Ferengi Alliance that permanent relations could be established in due time.
February 12th Former County-class destroyer HMS Devonshire (decommissioned in 1978) is sold to the Dominion of Ceylon and becoms HMCyS Vijaya (2), flagship of the Royal Ceylon Navy (3).
February 15th KNRS Den Haag arrives in the Alpha Centauri system.
January 23rd In the State of the Union address by President Gerald Ford he talks about the Ford Doctrine and the need to safeguard United States interest in the Persian Gulf.
March 5th Amsterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij begins construction on the first of two Rotterdam-class amphibious assault ships that are based on the Normandy-class amphibious assault ships in use with the United States Navy. The Rotterdam-classwill when completed in 1985 be some the biggest ships to enter into service with the Royal Netherlands Navy and will be used to provide amphibious assault capability for the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps.
March 10th A KLm pilot is killed when his Fokker D-24 tornado M.3 fighter crashes into the Ijsselmeer.
March 12th The third Imperial Japanese Navy Type C5 nuclear-powered attack submarine, I-79 is launched.

After a year of investigating the possibility that another nation on Earth will develop warp capability, the MID hands its report to the oversight commission (the Netherlands shadow government). In the report it states that if the United States continues their current course into space with their space shuttle program and their Independence-class program (previous know as NP-100 project), then it will be able to develop their own warp program by the end of the 1990s.
March 24th Mars base Utopia Planitia is closed, leaving only Mars base Hellas the only manned KNRD base in the Sol system.
March 29th After completing a 7 day flight, the space shuttle Columbia lands at Edwards Air Force Base in California, ending the third manned test flight of the space shuttle which also is the longest space shuttle flight since the start of the Space shuttle program.
April 6th The second S-1 Darkstar Mark I space plane is delivered onboard an USAF Lockheed C-5 Galaxy transport aircraft to Midway Naval Test Range, where it will be placed on top of a Titan 3C booster and used for the second manned mission of the space plane.
April 7th The United States severs diplomatic relations with Iran as a result of the occupation of the United States embassy in Tehran which began on November 4th and ended in November 20th the previous year when the Iranians released all 30 hostages they were holding.

The missile transport ship USNS Robert H. Goddard delivers the 42 meter long Titan 3C booster to Midway Island, needed to launch the S-1 Darkstar Mark I into orbit.
April 11th The Chairman of the Romulan Tal Shiar is briefed by the Director of the Intelligence Analysis Division of the Tal Shiar who tells him that the unknown object which self-destructed (January 21st, 1979) when it was spotted by one of their patrolling ships and later recovered by the Tal Shiar is most likely tied to the forces who destroyed their Coridan invasion fleet. A couple of hours later the Chairman of the Romulan Tal Shiar meets with the Praetor of the Romulan Star Empire, Nerom who was the mastermind of the destruction of Coridan III and the invasion of the Coridan system. After being briefed by the Chairman, the Praetor decides that the destruction of these unknown aliens is the newest priority for the empire and that the massive fleet that is being constructed at shipyards orbiting the planet of Remus are the means to do it.
April 15th KNRS Arnhem completes her shakedown cruise in the Alpha Centauri system.
April 18th The Alpha Centauri Bureau of Statistics hands down a new report to KNRD command of the number of Dutch people living in the colonies of Proxima Centauri b (30,000) and Alpha Centauri VI (800).

May 11th After being briefed by the administrator of the imperial space development agency of Japan, Prime Minister Kadomatsu gives the official authorization for the building of a 9 ton space laboratory called Uchuukichi-Ichi (English: space station-1) to be in orbit in 1985, which will be followed by a more advanced space laboratory complete with cargo ship called Uchuukichi-Ni. The project will culminate with Uchuukichi-San which will consist of a 20-ton core module, 2 smaller research modules and a cargo transport craft to be in orbit in the year 1994.
May 14th In Japanese Korea, the Kempeitai (Imperial Japanese Army military and secret police) clashes with demonstrators at the gate of Chonnam University in the city of Gwangju who protest the decision by the Governor-General of Korea to close the University.
May 15th With the number of demonstrator increased to more than 10,000 around the Chonnam University more then 686 soldiers belonging to the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force 2nd parachute raiding regiment arrive to help the Kempeitai in dispersing the still increasing group of demonstrators.
May 17th In Japanese Korea, the Governor-General of Korea and chief administrator of the Japanese government in Korea extends martial law to the entire Korean peninsula in response to demonstrations which began on May 14th near and around Chonnam University in the city of Gwangju.

June 14th Midway Naval Test Range and Area 51 control is transferred to the semi–secret United States Space Force Command located at Clear Air Force Station located in Alaska.
June 27th Space shuttle Columbia launches on it’s third orbital flight test (OFT-4), when it takes off from Cape Canaveral Space Center.

December 10th At Space Launch Complex-1 located at the semi–secret United States Space Force Command base of Area 51, the Independence-class spaceship USS Independence is lifted into position so that the six Solid Rocket Boosters (also used by the Space Shuttle) can be fitted to the 100 meter long nuclear powered spaceship.
December 12th Escorted by Tal Prai'ex (9) soldiers, the Emperor of the Romulan Star Empire Valkis VII and Praetor of the Romulan Star Empire Nerom visit the Romulan shipyards orbiting the planet of Remus. Here dozens of shipyards are building large number of Bird-of-Preys for the Romulan Imperial Fleet. The Bird-of-Preys which are being built are not only replacing the 27 Bird-of-Preys lost during the Coridan incident but are also being built for an operation Praetor Nerom is planning to launch in the near future.
December 30th The last of the six Solid Rocket Boosters is attached to USS Independence and with it the preparations for the launch of the first Independence-class spaceship can begin.
(1) Nieuw Batavia space force base is home to the 1st space fighter squadrons equiped with 24 Zwarte Pijl-class strike fighters and four Type A class shuttles assigned to the Alpha Centauri Police. The second space force base located on Proxima Centauri b is Port Wilhelmina space force base which is used for all shuttles that are not assigned to the ships in service with the KNRD.
(2) Not only has the Dominion of Ceylon Navy the County-class destroyer HMCyS Vijaya in service but also has River-class frigates HMCyS Gajabahu, HMCyS Mahasena and Tiger-class fast attack crafts HMCyS Weeraya, HMCyS Ranakami and HMCyS Jagatha.
(3) HMCyS is short for Her Majesty's Ceylon Ship.
(4) United States Forces China refers to the ground and air divisions of the United States armed forces stationed in the United Republic of China.
(5) The United States Space Force Command has two designs for the space capable missile that the can chose, they are the infrared homing kinetic energy warhead and the infrared homing 1-kiloton nuclear warhead.
(6) The names of the other three Invincible-class aircraft carriers are to be Illustrious, Indomitable and Implacable.
(7) The United Republic of China Air Force not only operates 182 F-104 Starfighters but also operates 140 F-4 Phantoms and 242 F-5 Freedom fighters which were either build on license by Aerospace Industries or received as part of the US Military Assistance Program.
(8) The Trial of Eight is an attempt by the president of China-Nanking Wang Mo-kan to remove those who he feels are a treat to his position by charging them with crimes against the state.
(9) The Tal Prai'ex is an elite organization of warriors present within the Romulan Star Empire and are also known as the Praetorian Guard. They are assigned as the personal guard of the Emperor and the Praetor.
