Well at least he will be remember as probably the greatest Southerner who ever lived, or has somebody else got that tittle. I suspect he will be at least much of an hero as OTL and in the short term is likely to be viewed as the greatest possible southerner, possibly 2nd only to an earlier Virginian, which is likely to cause occasional disputes with the AU. Especially given their victory I expect the CSA will claim they are the true successor to the US and especially the founding fathers, which will of course be contested by the AU. Well the founding fathers, most likely those who came from the South will still be consider the founding fathers of the confederacy.

Well George Washington was on the seal of the Confederacy Because he was a Southern born person. Both that and the fact the Confederacy, or at least prominent parts of its leadership viewed themselves as the 'true' successors of the original founding fathers. They argued that the CSA was living up to original values and the northern state was betraying them by creating too powerful a government and interfering in the affairs of the individual states. Not a view most people would agree with, including of course most of the union states.
