Well it could be stranger, Trump becoming president of a independent Scotland. Now that would be totally ASB.
And if Trump becomes president of the United States it would become reality.

They said that about Trump's candidacy.

They said that about Trump's candidacy. And of the United Kingdom voting Yes.

And if Trump becomes president of the United States it would become reality. ?? Are you suggesting that a President Trump would then seek to invade and annex Scotland?? I don't think even he would do that, no matter how much they blocked his plans for his golf course.

I don't think even he would do that, no matter how much they blocked his plans for his golf course. That is a reason for him to invade Scotland, because he was not allowed to build a golf course.

They said that about Trump's candidacy. And of the United Kingdom voting Yes. And of the United Kingdom voting Yes. And of the Russians annexing Crimea. The exit vote came as a surprise to a lot of people, myself included but I wouldn't say no one thought it was impossible. [Other than those who were prehaps driven more by their desires than facts on the ground]. In terms of the Russian annexation of the Crimean I think a hell of a lot of people were against it but, short of NATO, or at least significant members of it, supporting the Crimean very strongly, I don't think Putin achieving his aims were that surprising. The Ukraine lacked the military force to block the Soviet invasion and also I think many people in the Ukraine couldn't belive they would be treated that badly. I did say at the time that it could be Putin's equivalent of the annexation of rump Bohemia in early 39 and there has been a stiffening of the west's stance against further Russian military conquests but so far nothing decisive to block further moves by him that I can see.

Hopefully there are no more major shocks, other than good ones such as politicians actually keeping their word [which is totally ASB I know] but I'm not going to put the house on it. Especially since we still have > 40% of it to go yet.

You right we still have many days to go to see if we live in a ASB world or in the real word when the next president of the United States is elected.
