The Strike Witches 10th Anniversary event has announced that the following titles Will be launched in the next years. Anime adaption of the manga Strike Witches 501st Unit, Taking Off! (2019) An anime focused on the Strike Witches in their time between Neuroi attacks. Strike Witches season 3 A Road to Berlin (2020) It has jumped studio for the fourth time and Will be animated by David Production. A spin-off called Idol Witches (2021) An anime focused on witches that don't fight but instead, the squadron sing and perform music to protect the smiles of those who have been driven out of their hometowns by the Neuroi. An idol group based on the new franchise Will debut in 2019. Nice to see some new stuff from them. I am surprised that they are willing to invest this much in the franchise given that it has been six years since the main anime series got a release and the spin-off Brave Witches did not sell spectatculary well. |

Might it be to compete with Girls und Panzer and Kantai Collection. I would rather say it is to capitalise on the sucsess of those franchises given that it fills a niche that niether Garupan, KanColle nor any of their copycats currently does while at the same time having the advantage of a pre-established fanbase. |

A new Luminous witch has been revealed:  Her name Manaia Matawhaura Hato, from "New Zeeland" and her familiar is a kiwi bird. Despite kiwi’s being flightless birds, she adores it and calls it “Kii-chan”. She also loves to dance. She is based on Ana Matawhaura Hato. Nickname: Mana Age: 13 Position: Vocal/Main dancer/Dance Choreographer "Eats well, sleeps well, and is growing up fast, she is one of the most energetic witches in the NZ RAF. She loves to exercise and can be found dancing whenever she has spare time.” |
