So i bought the game and as i like playing the underdog i began the campaign as the Empire of Japan, having fought the battle of Pearl Harbor successfully in sinking all battleships i now have that hard mission to drive the Americans of the Philippines.

You know, Roel, it might have been better to put this in the video game thread instead of making a new one. That is what the video game thread is for, to talk about video games.
And the Philippines missions are easy, I actually had to put taking the last city on Bataan on hold for about five turns while I focused on taking all the bonus objectives. Now missions like Midway or New Caladonia, those are difficult. Especially if you want to Clear all the bonus objectives to. Also, I noticed that only Zuikaku and Hiryu have 1943 Upgrades while Kaga, Akagi, Shoukaku and Soryu disapear from the unit purchase menu. Way to stick to historic accuracy, Developers.

I think that this game can deserve it own thread, the video game thread can be used for talking about video game in general. So you say that if you do not loss a carrier in the game, than it might still disapear from the game if it was sunk in OTL, i am right now playing the first Philippines mission and i starting to like the game a lot.

Depends, there is nothing stopping you from using Kaga throughout the entire campaign since the stat difference between her and Hiryu '43 is not that impressive and you won't be using her for anything but a mobile airfield anyway.

I don't remember what units I bought besides one unit of marines (which continues to serve faithfully to this day) and I managed to capture both bridges before they were destroyed. My battlecry is pretty much "forwards!". I forgot about the airfield though.

Don't think I am going to be playing this game much this weekend, in stead I am going to try and finish Kindred Spirits on the Roof.
Here is my report from New Caledonia: With our victory at Guadalcanal, New Caledonia is the only thing that stands between us and the complete isolation of Australia. Unfortunately, the Americans knew this to and have done everything they could to prevent us from taking the island. Not only did they send hordes of Sherman tanks at my army, they also used radar towers to augment their air superiority against my fighters and bombers. This situation was only made worse by the fact that the area greatly favoured dug in defenders while my army was reduced to a glorified traffic jam at least twice. Maybe it was for the best that headquarters was so stingy with those "endless" reinforcements or the mess would have been worse.

So far i have not completed the first mission of the Philippine campaign due me having another game i am playing, but i am watching a lot of lets play videos on YouTube to find out the best way to get this mission done.

My report on Brisbane: Australia is the last nut to crack before we have achieved the Pacific empire that we deserve. But first we had to be victorious at Brisbane. Being cut off from their supply lines has really done a number on the Australian army, their defences were disorganised and troop strength severely lacking. Didn’t stop the Americans from deploying the USS North Carolina and USS South Dakota to help the defend the bay though. A foolish action, those ships never stood a chance against the might of the combined fleet. Just as proud of the victory at Brisbane am I of our capture of general MacArthur. Sure, he was more slippery than an eel in a bucket full of slime but with him under our control the Allied defences will be much weaker in the future. Now, onward to New Zealand!
