Well I’m getting ready for my trip to the holy land and it’s to be known since Jerusalem’s destruction along with its temple and the Jewish diaspora the Jewish former inhabitants have been dreaming, preparing and taking the effort to fulfill their Zion dream just as I have been dreaming to go to Israel and counting on the days until I reach Israel

John Barry - Out of Africa Main Theme
One of John Barry's very best. It compliments the picture and glorious camera work so very well, particularly as it swells to its first refrain on strings. Second only to his work on Zulu for me.
Vangelis - 1492 Conquest of Paradise Main Theme
A very much different tone to Barry, but so very well suited to the theme and tone of the picture, a much maligned one, but not in my opinion. Vangelis manages to paint an evocative picture with sound here, sending us into that first voyage and summoning up epic crescendos.

Chris de Burgh - A Spaceman Came Travelling. I like this one as a song and a Christmas song.
Chris de Burgh - Crusader. A rather good, long song that tells quite the tale, from the opening harpsichord solo to the climax and doleful conclusion. It is an Alternate History work in a certain way of thinking, as it has King Richard I take Jerusalem from Saladin.
