It snowed today and it certainly brought memories and I love seeing the stores decked out with toys for the holiday season. Almost every November if not every November Hannibal gets a nice sheet of snow and this is what I played getting ready for class

Dawson’s Christian is an example of the ‘filk’ genre, in this case a space pirate ghost ship ballad. This is the lower quality version from a 1980s tape, which adds to the feel of the piece. I particularly like the little oboe solo in the middle.

Strangely enough while the image refers to Carmen Miranda's Ghost the song is as you say called "Dawson's Christian". Here is the actual Carmen Miranda's Ghost song. |

Ah realised this later on as I found the rest of it in multiple videos. Damn you Simon, I was planning to do a few things yesterday but ended up with a few years of listening to the rest of the songs and some other ones.

Roll on Northumbria by The Dreadnoughts, a great little song/shanty about the SS Northumbria by a Canadian ‘folk’ group.

Context for the song regardless of anyones relgion provided this is allowed and for all those who are enduring a Christmas that isn’t all that jolly.
I love the history story behind the song and casting crowns does great with this song
