Well that shows cultural differences. If originally published about 1961 I would see waves of outrage if someone tried that for a Christmas song in Britain then. Especially with that last twist at the end.

It's hard to believe this song is seven years old. This was featured in FIFA 2014 soundtrack. For my case, this was played a lot during college raves in the mid-2010s, particularly from 2013 to 2015.
