The Planet Venus got back in focus of scientist in 1990s
Venus was regular visit by Soviet since 1970s with Verena probes, sporadically by NASA and ESRO, here was most spectacular the manned fly-by of Ares mission during 1990s.
It was this fly-by, were they detected in Venus upper Atmosphere Phosphine.
This is quite unusual since, there is no know chemical process in Venus atmosphere, that explain the presents of Phosphine.
On Earth its part of global phosphorus biochemical cycle, but on Venus has no biochemical cycle, or is some form of life in Atmosphere ?
This let to wild speculation.
The Soviets had neglect Venus since 1986 VeGa probes, in favour of Mars probes for manned Aelita Mission
With discovery of Phosphine, the Soviets got curious.
Venera 17 & 18 was their return to Venus, they drop landers, this time equip with sensors primarily to scann Venus atmosphere. confirming presents of Phosphine.
But in layer of roughly 10 km thick in upper atmosphere at 50 km altitude.
Next step were to call the French, they had build balloon probes Montgolfier 1&2 on VeGa mission, and Montgolfier 3 on Mars under Marshochod program.
Now Montgolfier 4&5 became counterpart of Viking 1&2, but under Helium balloon, able to survive months in Atmosphere Venus.
Under Venera 19 & 20 they arrived at Venus and successful deploy their Balloon at 50 km over Venus surface.
Here the Pressure of Venus Atmosphere is 1 bar, while temperature are mild between +30°C to +50°C
While the test for Life in Venus Atmosphere had inadequate results, were the meteorological data boring, but the picture of Venusian sky are spectacular,
special of the other Balloons,

Allot photos show swarms of balloon like objects, close to cloud layer, estimation on size resulted like the probe, up to hot air Balloon used on Earth!
Mostly in color of Venus cloud, on Infrared show those Balloons were hotter as they’re surrounding clouds.
The scientists were confused, what are they ? a bizarre result of chemical reaction on Venus or a Life form ?
To get more data, Montgolfier 4 lower it altitude to top of cloud layer, to get close up picture of those Balloons, what manage to get good picture.
Those balloons looking like organic structure similar to jellyfish and also something blurry that move very fast in distance, too fast for cameras of probe.
until picture show how the blur attack one of balloon, who burst and blur took the parts under balloon.
The blur was better to see, revealing a swallow like creature in size of small aircraft !
Montgolfier 4 found life in Venus Atmosphere !
After that probe was attacked and destroy by one of the swallow creature, mistaking it as his prey !
Montgolfier 5 was raised to higher altitude to be safe, Follow by Question what to do next ?
This news hit the World like a bomb, no one expected life like this on Venus,
SOVCOSMO, NASA, ESRO JASA turn there focus to Venus and it strange ecology with more probes,
Even UN intervene for several reasons, protect the Venusian Life and prevent a cross contamination of Earth and Venus.
