What about "ISOT Question: Downtimers on the Internet?", which discusses how pre-Information Age people would behave online if their societies were "uplifted" by contemporary/near-future nations that were sent back in time? For one, I think that social media would become even more toxic if pre-Civil Rights or Red Scare-era people had access to it (that means you, Senator McCarthy). You mean people from the 1950s ore 60 reading President Trump tweets, the horror. Many would probably find him to be far to liberal and tolerant for 'gasp' treating whites and blacks equally. They would also Wonder why he doesn't take the treat of communism more seriously.

JFK on Twitter or Elvis on Instagram, anyone?

Also you can if you like, create a separate thread instead of posting it here if you like Zyobot

I've been recently thinking about the kind of beef that Trump and "lien' Joe Malarkey" would have, specifically between a Twitter feud between the two.
This time, the uptimers would probably be cheering for The Donald, while the downtimers would be a mix of surprised/aghast that he's taking on the infamous, anti-communist demagogue from Wisconsin.

What if all still-living WW2 veterans' minds were ISOTed back to their 1939 to 1945 selves?
This scenario isn't just frivolous, it's also waaaaay too multifarious with waaaaay too many people involved to predict how history would completely change compared to OTL's version. Ah, well.

If the are German veterans they might get lock up by the Gestapo.

If I understand correctly you mean their now in their young bodies, replacing their earlier self? In which case at least initially a lot will be locked up by the authorities as lunatics until someone starts accepting what all those people are saying and how some of the things their saying are coming true - or might be embarrassing enough to people in power.
What period exactly are they being sent back to as arriving in 39 will have different results than 40 let alone 45 given the information they will have? True some will be misinformed on a lot of information and in some cases, especially in the totalitarian states may be unwilling to be too open about what they know. However once people start believing at least some of what they say there are going to be huge butterflies. So many disasters could be avoided on all sides. If their returning to 39 say would France still fall, or Italy join the war? Does reports of the future prompt an earlier entry into any war by the US or prompt isolationists to push harder to keep them out of it? How successful will those in Germany, Japan or Russia who want to avoid the terrible disaster the war was for their countries be and could they make matters worse?

Those veterans will be very young, not older than in their twenties i guess.

we have enough trouble with 2018 bigots on social media. Bull Conner etc on Twitter would be... not good.

we have enough trouble with 2018 bigots on social media. Bull Conner etc on Twitter would be... not good. Neither would Joe McCarthy, Ross Barnett or the other yahoos that held sway back then be a welcome presence on the WWW. That's one reason why if I had stock in a modern/near-future ISOT to sometime before the 1970s or '80s, I'd be very concerned about the implications of making the interwebs available to the downtimer masses. Red Scare and Civil Rights-era America would be especially difficult to deal with in that way.
Even if this doesn't happen immediately--because it'd take time to set up the needed infrastructure and work out internet governance with downtimer authorities--it'd still be an eventuality to prepare for nonetheless.
Somehow, I'm imagining a sent-along uptimer Trump getting into social media feuds with those same people--and the uptimers that normally object to him would cheer him on as he challenges "yesteryear's bigots". The downtimers would have much more...mixed feelings about him, no doubt.

I came up with this one while I was shopping this evening: "Junk Food Becomes Healthy?". Truth be told, I think that'd be pretty awesome (in my case, at least).
Then I could binge on pizza, fries, soda, chips, candy, the whole nine yards without the negative consequences that come with doing all that in real life. I wouldn't be able to enjoy that sort of thing without healthful substitutes becoming mainstream within my lifetime, which I hope happens.
But hey, a person can still fantasize, yeah?

A lot of Americans would be happy i presume.
