A the subplot where a hardcore member tries to prevent peace being made. Yep. Now India is in a civil war. The pro-Narayannen forces have aligned with the West while the pro-Patel forces have the Chinese military on their side. We are approaching the climax. So a big version of Italy from 1943 onward.

Just a correction of the timeline World War III Year 1: 2005 (start of the Kurdistan War) Year 2: 2006 (start of the Sino-American, official start of a greater conflict) Year 3: 2007 Year 4: 2008 Year 5: 2009 Year 6: 2010 Year 7: 2011 Year 8: 2012
So the Indian Coup occurs somewhere on October 12, 2010.

The economic and human losses would dwarf the Second World War. Also Russia is irradiated because nukes were used to stop the advance of the CAS forces marching from Siberia.

I'm now in the chapter where Mexico erupts into a civil war.
Also, the Allies now have crossed another morality line:

Within a ten minutes, a single Predator IV aircraft, armed with the UAV version of the Hail Storm weapons system made a single pass over the invading Mexican killers. A quick reaction platoon arrived on the scene within thirty minutes and found all of the Mexicans dead…including all of the women and children. I have no words for this, but then again, the author thinks, America great and then there is the rest.

RIP Alan Campbell. The younger brother of our fellow African-American Marine and Medal of Honor recipient Leon Campbell died in the Siberian front. While his death is saddening, it's makes the story least of a fairytale.

Agree. I don't know the context - and have no desire to read the book given what I've read here about it - but why is a body of people including women and children being referred to as an invading force? Sounds more like refugees than that. It does seem to be a case of the authors extreme views taken to the limit.

The Mexican president encouraged them to do so to undermine U.S. war efforts in the Western Hemisphere.

That sounds dubious in the least. To get people to leave their homes and livelihoods you would really have to force them out which would be difficult and disastrous for the Mexican economy. As Lordroel suggests this sounds like author's fiet to get a result desired by him despite logic.

I don't think the author had ever even entertained the thought that a group of refugee is a lot different from an invading force or that someone need some serious incentive to leave his home and go to live in another nation bringing with him just what they can transport
