It get even silly now. I'm in the chapter where a joint Chinese-Indian-Indonesian coalition has invaded Australia and is now pushing the allies to a 150 km radius between Sydney and Melbourne. The radius is what represents the last of free Australia. I'm amazed how logistics is not even considered here, considering Australia in the middle is barren desert. And where is the wildlife?

Have you reached the point where the Chinese invade Australia and the handful of survivors are guided across thousands of miles of wilderness by a literal magical Aboriginal man?

Ah, it seems you have.
The impression I get is that the author may have once visited Australia on holiday, but not enough to get a clue.
Where were their initial landings supposed to take place? There is a distinct ignorance of how big Australia is, along with simply hand waving in silly tech and amphibious lift.

In Novels the most important thing always seems to be forgotten. So did the book also mention the Philippines ore was it just a side note in the Chinese-Indian-Indonesian coalition invasion of the world.

There is a distinct ignorance of how big Australia is, along with simply hand waving in silly tech and amphibious lift. The landings was in the north by the Chinese and the Indonesians and to the West by the Indians. In Novels the most important thing always seems to be forgotten. So did the book also mention the Philippines ore was it just a side note in the Chinese-Indian-Indonesian coalition invasion of the world. The Philippines and Malaysia voted to join the Coalition of Asian States after they saw Japan's surrender to China. The PLA then staged troops and aircraft on these countries. Many of the PLAAF Tu-122M bombers that attacked Guam came from the former USAF base in Kadena at Okinawa, an island in the Celebes Sea, and Clark Air Base in Luzon.

I’d say that the late Ermey, like other actors, was simply doing a job in order to get paid. Money is money and a role, even if be utterly silly, gives that cash that spends just as well as a Shakespearean role; Michael Caine once commented: “First of all, I choose the great roles, and if none of these come, I choose the mediocre ones, and if they don't come, I choose the ones that pay the rent…(On Jaws: The Revenge) 1987)] I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific.“ What sells me on that notion is that he had worked with the director before on 1989’s The Siege of Firebase Gloria. It seems most likely to be “take any role for money” + “I’ve worked with this chap before and like him” rather than “I believe in this role, script and picture above anything else”. Secondly, the background history on Breckenridge is all correct, but do you really believe that, based on the synopsis of the film, the reputation of the director and a critical rating of 10/100, they got that deep into the process of historical allusion? It isn’t impossible, but dashed unlikely. President "Richard Benson"? Try Richard Nixon in the same spot as one watches this whatever it is. Someone made a first pass at it with that in mind, in the pinks, even if the end product by the grays, was the southern end of the mule.

As said, laughable. Darwin to Alice is 1500km (more than Berlin to Smolensk) with a highway and a single track railway. Most of that is through undeveloped desert and wilderness with no support or easy access to supplies. It is almost another 1500km to Adelaide.
Perth to Adelaide is 2700km, again through empty country.
This isn’t a good example of a technothriller, but rather one of the worst. It isn’t just the technical inaccuracy, but the story, the structure, language, characters, themes, dialogue, style, tone, cartoonish enemies and lack of tension; in other words, every element of a novel.

He wanted to portray the unholy Sino-Arab alliance as an unstoppable juggernaut so he disregarded logistics and demographics of such.

But before that, give America several knocks of defeat before she comes back with vengeance while screaming "America, Fuck Yeah!"

Throwing the Indians into the mix is what bemuses me. You know, the nation that has a bit of a problem and several wars with their Muslim neighbour and being a long term strategic rival of Red China to boot.
It is almost as if he is copying the idea from somewhere…
Let’s see: - Unified Arab and Iranian bad guys who are handwaved together - Evil Red China taking over the world because…Of Course! - India coming along for the ride and seeming, for some reason, to want to take over Australia
Yep, if is just Tom Clancy’s cluster vomit salad from Executive Orders/The Bear and the Dragon, which is where he indulged in his worst tendencies. All that Dragon’s Fury is missing is a resurgent Imperial Japan.

All that Dragon’s Fury is missing is a resurgent Imperial Japan. Yeah, the Sino-Indian bloc know as the Coalition of Asian States really baffles me. India and China DO NOT trust each other especially when it comes to territorial disputes in the Himalayas, Beijing's support of Pakistan, and in current times, attempt by China to encircle India by establishing commercial ports in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Pakistan. Never will a Sino-Indian alliance form in OTL present-day conditions, even for 2005-2006. The Unified Arab, Turkmen, Iranian and Indonesian bad guys is probably inspired from the Global Liberation Army in Command and Conquer: Generals. Blatant disregard of of Sunni-Shia tensions. Those do not disappear overnight. China being the villain in techno-thrillers has been going on since the 1990s. The PRC became the convenient "bad guy" because the USSR no longer existed. My guess the author took the quote of Napoleon too literally: "Let China sleep for when she wakes, she will shake the earth." No Imperial Japan for sure but we do see a revenge occupation of the Home Islands by the PLA who are committing acts of war crimes on the Japanese population. Strange how Japan was an ally of China in Executive Orders.

The premise is stupid on how America downsized its military prior to the 21st century and virtually did nothing as China gobbled all of the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Central and South America. Here's the TV Tropes page for it: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Literature/Invasion
