So on September 9th to 10th I will be offline for at least 20 hours as I go by car ferry from Oslo to Kiel, that means that I will not be able to post in the period, so no worry that you do not see me online unless there is WiFi on the ship. Well we can cancel my 20 hours offline, have WiFi. |

Just a question, how much does everybody feel about opening up General Chat and Politics and Current Affairs to the public to see instead of Members Only.
This is not that i will do it, just want to see members responds.

If its just to see I would be OK with it. Gives visitors a taste for the board and its values. Only possible problem might be if we had an issue with stalkers/trolls as with one former member but then if their looking through other parts of the site they might well see their target so that's probably not too relevant.

That is what i was thinking stevep, now visitors only see the forum without General Chat and Politics and Current Affairs, allowing them to see what is posted there might give them a reason to join, but then again, having members being able to post in private related to some threads is also something that want to see happening. |

So the previous thread i made regarding a experiment i wanted to do is off as i have decided that privacy for members to post in Politics and Current Affairs/General Chat is more important than attracting new members.

So from today onward, the boards posted below can be view by guest, this has two reasons, to give more privacy to current members and to encourage new members to join so they can see the full forum:

Sorry for the short down time, it seems there was a ERROR 502, the Proboards tech staff seems to have resolve it and we are back.

Got a answer related to the Error 1015 some had:
Basically rate limiting is a way of controlling the amount of requests handled by the servers. It puts a cap on how often someone can repeat an action within a certain timeframe. Receiving an error message like “You are being rate limited” is a way of telling the user it's time to slow down.
It's not uncommon for rate limits to be adjusted as needed to keep user connections/data flowing smoothly. As an analogy it could be compared to how traffic lights work. During peak hours traffic lights operate on a different red/green timing than off-peak hours.
Seems we do not need to worry nor having fear i banned you, if i did you would see a complete different message.

What I have found out they ban VPNs who spam forums, some of them might have generated our IP adressen. Will keep a eye out if it happens to much I will report it again to Proboards staff. |
