I saw it today on perhaps the most appropriate day to do so. I enjoyed it; there were some strategic blunders but all in all it was quite entertaining. It was also lacking some of the obvious handwaves that the original did. If i lived in the universe i would be death now with that giant spaceship own gravity having likely me when it moved across Europe.

Hell, in the original movie my father and very pregnant mother would be dead.

So far i saw and it is a spoiler it stopped just before hitting the Withe House, that is presume the new white house is build on the old white house location.

They seemed to have rebuilt Washington, and gotten rid of the old height limit - in modern Washington, the only building allowed to be taller than the Capitol is the Washington Monument.

Yes i was informed when i went up the Washington Monument, nice place to visit. I would survive the War of 1996 but do the Harvester own gravity pulling everything up i doubt i will survive the War of 2016.

The height limit is what really bothered me about Transformers 3 (or was it 2? One of them). Pretty much everything between Chicago and Warsaw is dead in the new one.

That sucks for me, and a lot of other people, but then again it was mention that more than 3 billion people died in the War of 1996, so the most people who died in the War of 2016 will be in Asia.

China must have been devastated, as with Japan and Korea. I can't help but think that scene in one of the Chinese cities (Shanghai?) was to satisfy the big Chinese market for films.

I toughed it was Singapore, but then again the China market is right, other wise this movie will flop without the China market.

Watched it Saturday. It was not a very memorable Movie but it was a decent way to fill two hours.

So tomorrow we Americans at least celebrate our Independence Day. I was lucky enough to just come across a great graphic that covers the War of 1996 and includes a map of the total destroyed cities that I compiled years ago as noted earlier in this thread and which were made the official destroyed cities list through the official web site warof1996.com. Take a look In Memoriam for the millions lost. Where were you on those terrible 3 days 22 years ago - July 2-4 ,1996 ? img11.hostingpics.net/pics/633676IndependenceDayResurgenceAlienInvasionHistory.png
