Yes I think it would. The missiles and launcher are protected from the 16 inch gun over pressure. Unlike the Can, a BB would mount the system a lot further above the waterline so the protection from sea spray would be of less value but still worth having.

Not sure how to protect the illuminators, maybe a blast shield and a telescoping mounting?
