Perhaps the Texas blind salamander? It's only found in the caves of San Marcos, near Austin. It's not considered endangered at this point, though it is considered vulnerable (after all, any species that only exists on one very specific part of the world could be wiped out at any moment by a catastrophe that's local to that part of the world...)
I would expect that we're losing species on virtually a daily basis, if you include smaller insects and maritime animals, probably without most of them being known about.

Despite what children, of all ages, think nature is reality and nature is not fair. You have to earn your right to survive.
That's just the way the world works folks.

Except that cutting the ground out from under you is not a wise policy. The vast majority of the extinctions is due to habitat destruction, either by direct human action or pollution. Both means are bad for humanity in general apart from the risks of undercutting the ecology we rely on.
We talk now about the current Covid pandemic. For Earth as a whole there is a far more serious pandemic and I hope its soon brought under control but preferably without it being rendered extinct.

Scientists bring to life nearly 100 baby sharks through artificial inseminationSixteen out of 31 oceanic shark species are now critically endangered or endangered, a study published in the journal Nature found earlier this year. The number of oceanic sharks and rays in the world has declined by 71% from 1970 to 2018, the researchers observed.
Now, scientists have been able to use artificial insemination to bring 97 baby sharks to life, a new study published in Scientific Reports revealed, in what a release describes as the "largest-ever effort to artificially inseminate sharks."
Artificial insemination of sharks could foster healthier populations in aquariums by encouraging genetic diversity, removing the need to transport sharks between institutions for mating purposes, according to the researchers. Moving sharks from one place to another is a costly process that is also stressful for the animals.

There has been a couple of articles on its plight on the BBC recent. Not sure if this is available overseas but assignment - saving the vaquita gives more details. It sounds like they are doomed due to corruption in Mexico and sheer stupidity if China. - Because they became rare assorted idiots/con men declared they were valuable items in 'traditional' Chinese medicine which prompted large prices being paid for parts of them. - How it can be referred to as traditional when China has before the 20thC never really known of their existence I don't know.
As one of the other posts on the AH link posted says a number of similar species are at risk and I think we may already have lost the Yangtze River dolphin.

Hopefully they can find a mate for her, although you really need more than one pair else the species will be very inbred.
