This is a one-shot description of my weird dream I had two nights ago. My friend and I were teleported to Jurassic Park III. It played out like the movie except things got really random towards the end.
Be advised, this is full of randomness and weird humor.

It was not supposed to end this way. One simple "sight-seeing trip" turned into the fight of our lives.
How we got here?
We'll get to that.

July 4, 20XX
My friend Gabrielle loves going into adventures. It's been quite awhile since her and I hiked together since our paths separated due to different careers. She went to Manila for quite some time to practice her career as a CPA[2]. I on the other hand, stayed in Cebu to become a researcher. I have done multiple researches on insects and was invited abroad numerous times to view entomological studies and conventions.
One night, while I came from work, Gabrielle called me about an adventure.
"Hey Gillan, you would not believe it!"
"What is it?"
"This American family is offering us to have an aerial tour over Isla Sorna."
"Wait what?!?" I yelled in surprise.
"Yeah. It was posted somewhere on the Extreme Traveler International Congress that one American multimillionaire family is gonna pay an aerial tour."
"With all due respect Gabrielle, but that place is restricted by the United Nations."
"Well apparently we can travel there. I placed in your name in there."
"What the fuck? Seriously."
"Yeah, our contact persons will be Mr. Paul Kirby and Mrs. Amanda Kirby. They'll be bringing with us Dr. Alan Grant and his protege named Billy Brennan."
I felt my world come to an end. I mean a trip over Isla Sorna would mean I would possibly get arrested and lose my career. Scrap that, both of us would get arrested and be in deep shit. However, I have not seen my friend Gabrielle in roughly three years. For the past three years, her and I have been maintaining contact over Facebook Messenger and social media before she'd return here to Cebu. Of course I want to be with her again. This was just to tempting to say no to.
Closing my eyes, I thought over it a million times before telling Gabrielle that I'll go with her.
"The Kirbys would pay for our expenses."
"Wait where are we supposed to meet the Kirbys?" I asked.
"Well they'll meet us in Los Angeles then from there its down to San José, Costa Rica. Following that, we'd take a chartered flight to Isla Sorna. A prop plane. Either a Beechcraft or Cessna. Don't worry Gill, the Kirbys have it under their control."
"You and I both know this is risky, right? Even if we somehow don't land there, we can still get arrested by Costa Rican authorities?"
"As I said, the Kirbys have it under the control. They said they have connections within both the U.S. and Costa Rican governments for this trip."
Oh well, here goes a 24hr+ trip to the other side of the globe.
But what's it like to have a trip over Isla Sorna next to one of the prettiest girls in college? Of course I had to take it.
Present Day
Site B-Isla Sorna
We were duped.
Four of us were duped.
Grant, Billy, Gabrielle, and I were brought to this trip to act as a cover. Now we were all stuck here in this island full of nightmares just because they did not disclose the true nature of their reason. They were not millionaires as we thought they were. Billy grilled them over the height of K2 which exposed their lies. It became clear they were looking for their son Eric who has been missing since May. Exactly eight weeks had passed since they lost contact with Eric and a certain Ben Hildebrand, who was Amanda's boyfriend. The Kirbys were apparently separated before these all occurred. They have been trying to contact both U.S. State Department officials and Costa Rican authorities but no search would be conducted due to the island's dangerous nature.
The reason they brought Dr. Allan Grant and Billy with them was they needed a guide. They soon found out it was on another island called Isla Nublar that Dr. Grant was in.
As for Gabrielle and I, we were to be as a young millennial couple to serve as cover that this whole thing was an aerial tour.
So called aerial tour became a matter of life and death. So much mistakes occurred. The Spinosaurus attack killed one mercenary named Cooper. We actually crashed into it but it did little harm to the monster. It then destroyed our plane and devoured Nash. The rest of us barely escaped with our lives before we came face-to-face with a bull Tyrannosaurus rex. In what would have been the greatest thrill of our lives, we witnessed both titans clashed while we were all underneath them! The T.rex had the advantage initially by biting into the Spinosaurus' neck but the latter was able to get free and twist the neck of the T.rex. It then roared in victory and feasted on its trophy.
"Well then, I'm guessing this is the best extreme trip of your life?" I sarcastically said to Gabrielle.
"Yeah, that...was intense." Gabrielle replied, panting in between.
All of four of us were furious. Even Udesky wanted to abandon ship.
"I didn't tell you to kidnap somebody!" The mercenary yelled.
Grant and Billy then headed towards the coast.
"Come on, Gabrielle. Let's go." I said. She then follows me as we followed where Dr. Grant and Billy were going.
"What do we do now?" Paul asked.
"We search for your son...in the direction where they are going." Udesky replied.
The Crash Site
Site B-Isla Sorna
The plane was wrecked beyond recognition. We tried to salvage what we could. I took my backpack with some provisions enough to probably a last a week at best.
I saw we were defenseless. All the weapons were lost somewhere. I saw Udesky pull-out his Steyr AUG which seemed to be bent out-of-shape by the crash. He then tossed it to the ground in frustration. It would no longer function.
"Just great." I thought. "Nothing to keep the beasties at bay."
"Hey, you alright?" I asked Gabrielle, who was placing a jacket over her crop top. She then dusted off the dry leaves and vines that stuck to her jeans.
"Yeah. Hey Gill, I'm sorry I brought you into this trip." She added.
"What's done is done. What matters is we get out of this island in one place. Look, Dr. Grant has a bit of knowledge of these dinosaurs. We follow him and his advice and we have more chances of survival. We can talk about this later."
"Looks like I'll take a break from traveling and going on adventures." Gabrielle said. "Maybe I should just pursue Law right after this."
We were all startled by Amanda's screaming. We headed to the noise of of the hysterical woman. In turned out we saw the parachute and what remained of Ben. Amanda was tangled into the remains and the strings of the parachute, causing her to storm off farther while Paul chased after her.
"Seems we could use it." I told Dr. Grant.
Billy then worked to remove the remains of Ben while Gabrielle and I covered his remains with some banana and palm leaves. We wanted to at least give Ben a proper burial but we neither had the tools nor the time for it.
"Dr. Grant, you better come see this." Paul shouted over the undergrowth.
Gabrielle and I followed Dr. Grant. What we saw was disturbing. Mounds of dirt had countless eggs in it! Oh shit!
"Raptor eggs..." Dr. Grant said.
Gabrielle then huddled towards me. I felt a chill down my spine as we just entered the Gates of Hell. Thankfully, there were no sight of the raptors nearby...yet.
"Let's get out of here slowly." Grant said. We then took small steps to avoid the nests. However, Billy was no where in sight.
"Where's Billy?" Dr. Grant asked.
"He was behind us." I replied.
He then walked a few steps backward where his protege was just right exactly behind.
"Just packing my bag." Billy replied.
"Don't do that again." Dr. Grant added, stating the obvious consequences on lingering right in the middle of a Velociraptor nest.
An old, abandoned and derelict structure could be seen from the base of the green hills of Isla Sorna. We could see the structure still intact, even though it was stages of decay. I could see holes on the roofs and the walls where vines and other vegetation slowly invading it.
"Think he could be in there?" Paul asked.
"Could be. Let's check it out. Maybe we can find something useful such as food, supplies, and weapons." I replied.
We then hiked another 15 minutes or so before we arrived at the base of the structures.
InGen Compound
Site B-Isla Sorna
It was a scene that looked straight from a post-apocalyptic video game. The front of the compound was littered with the wrecks of abandoned vehicles and mechanical objects. Various forms of weed and vegetation started invading the structures. Even some were beginning to grow on the vehicle wrecks. The ground was all but littered with dried leaves which made the eerie cracking noise as we stepped on them.
We walked passed a a large InGen sign, its logo faded over the years of being abandoned. Mold and mildew were present. The shrubbery that lined the front of the building now threatens to spill over its placement while the portico that graced the top of the entrance now sags ominously.
We then entered the lobby. Vines hanged overhead from the holes on the roof while drips of water fell on the floor, forming paddles. Amanda approached the desk where non-functioning computers sat idle, grabbing a telephone. She placed it down. The power had been out for a quiet a long time, even perhaps a decade. We then followed the group toward an S-shaped hallway to the side of the reception desk. There were two vending machines that held some snacks.
"Do you have some change?" Paul asked.
Billy then kicked the glass panel of the other vending machine, shattering it easily. He and Dr. Grant then took some food from it.
"Wait, are those food past their shelf life?" Gabrielle asked.
"As long as it is wrapped, it should be fine." Dr. Grant replied.
"Come on, grab as much food and drinks as you can. Chocolate and chips for carbohydrates, beef treats for protein, and water for hydration." I said. The rest of us grabbed what food and supplies we can carry.
"Find some weapons." I said.
Unfortunately there were no weapons that could be used.
We then proceeded to another hallway that lead to what appeared to be a production floor. There were incubators laid out in rows. Each incubator had remains of dinosaur egg shells. Above them, robotic arms that I deduced that would have held the eggs to be nested. Upon closer inspection, the robotic arms have fallen victim to rust after many years of neglect. The floor was also littered with dry leaves and eggshells. One of our companions stepped on an eggshell, producing an eerie cracking sound that echoed in the empty building.
"Is this how you make dinosaurs?" Amanda asked.
"No...this is how you play God." Dr. Grant answered back with a cold tone.
To the side of the incubators were embryonic tubes. Some where empty and destroyed. Others still held water, albeit green and infested with sludge.
"Imagine the smell." Gabrielle said.
There were embryonic life forms inside three of the tanks. As I looked closer, it was no doubt these had rotted a long time ago and were likely contributing to the green appearance of the water they were immersed in. It was a scene straight out of a horror movie. The first embryo resembled a hadrosaur, the second some form of theropod, and the third was another theropod but had spines emerging from its back while having a three-digit frontal arms. It was disturbing and fascinating at the same time.
"We opened Pandora's Box here." I added.
"Now with mankind tampering with nature, it would horribly backfire on us." Gabrielle replied.
"I took up BioEthics in college. This dinosaur research breaks so much ethical and moral issues." I said.
Amanda Kirby then took a look at one of the tanks. One of them was a head of a Velociraptor. Perfectly preserved or so it seemed. Amanda took a closer look before the head pulled back and attacked from the gap of the tanks, revealing it to be a live Velociraptor. Amanda Kirby's scream got the rest of our attentions and panic quickly gripped us all. Our fight-or-flight instincts went into full swing. We backed out from the area and headed to what was the kennels meant to house and nurture young dinosaurs. Another Velociraptor emerged from the other side and chased us in[3]. It had its sights on Gabrielle and I, causing us to separate as both of us hid in another cage. Before we could close the metallic cage door, the raptor then managed to bite on Gabrielle's jacket, causing her to scream. I was then in caught in a tug-of-war as the raptor tried to pull my friend out. Thankfully, it didn't bite through her flesh.
"Take it off!" I yelled.
Gabrielle hurriedly removed her jacket as the raptor pulled it out, munching on it before realizing it had been fooled. We then kicked the door close. The raptor still tried to enter since it thought we intruded its territory back at the nests.
I could see that Billy and Amanda tried to hold-off one by pushing a metallic door but the other raptor's strength was able to push them back. It then tried to climb through the gaps. Dr. Grant, Paul, and Udesky tried to distract it but it seemed to be of no interest. With all their strength, Amanda and Billy managed to push the raptor back and trap it in the corner.
"Quick, let's the trap the other one!" I said.
"Are you crazy?!? It will rip us apart before we have the chance to trap it." Gabrielle protested.
"Gabby, you're gonna have to trust me in this."
The other trapped raptor began a screech. I then felt goosebumps all over my body. Dr. Grant was equally stunned.
"It's calling for help!" Dr. Grant yelled.
"Come on!" Paul Kirby said as he pulled the stunned researcher.
"Hey, wait for us!" Gabrielle yelled but the group was already way ahead of them.
"They left us!" She cried.
"We have to get out of here!" I said.
I then presented myself as bait as the other raptor attacking us got closer.
"Gabby, run!" I said as I let the raptor chase me. I then lead it towards another cage before swinging the door close, trapping it. Gabrielle was waiting in the end of the hallway.
"Come on, let's go!" I yelled. At this point, I hoped that both of us could still catch up with Dr. Grant and co. I looked back and saw the first raptor climb out of its trap while the second was also doing the same thing. Both of us then made a run for it.
So Gabrielle and I ran and ran towards the front entrance where the reception desk was. It felt like forever until we got out. We raced down the steps towards the drive way where the abandoned vehicles lay. There was no sign of Grant and the others.
"Into the undergrowth quick!" I yelled.
But before we could do that, three Velociraptors came from the side and surrounded us. We then made a run towards the back of the building just right in time for the two other Velociraptors that we trapped catch up with us. Then came a sixth raptor. This one was colored differently from the rest. It was silvery-white with black spots all over it. The rest were lavender in color with quills at the back of their head. What made them both disturbing is that their red eyes starred right at us, ready to consume our souls. I then made an assumption that the silver-white raptor was the alpha female of the pack while the ones with quills at the back of their head were the males of the pack. Kind of like a reverse pride if these were lions.
"Oh God, we're surrounded!" Gabrielle yelled.
I was equally stunned and speechless. I didn't feel it when she grabbed my hand in terror. It's one of those final moments before death one would seek comfort to the nearest person.
One of the male raptors were about to pounce on us when we heard gunfire erupt from elsewhere. The raptors at the front of the undergrowth were gunned down quickly, forming pools of blood where they lay dead. The other three raptors, including the alpha female, ran away back to the jungle.
Gabrielle and I just stood there motionless, still shocked at what happened. We were slowly about to accept death right at this moment when suddenly an African man leading a group of a mix of caucasian and African mercenaries emerged from the other side of the undergrowth. They were all armed with AK-47s while some had grenade launchers and RPGs.
"GET OVER HERE! NOW!" The mysterious man yelled in a thick African accent. "The blood will attract other carnivores to come here!"
Still stunned at the sudden turn of events, we followed the men. One of them then handed me a an AK-47 with a collapsing stock while another handed a full size Uzi to Gabrielle. So we ran and ran until we reached a part of the island where a functioning outpost had been erected. The outpost had electricity powered by both solar generators or geothermal power extracted from somewhere. There were vehicles in the camp but they appeared to be cannibalized. A radio tower had been erected.
The mercenaries then housed us, gave us blankets and a meal. We were thankful but wary at the same time. We still do not know who to trust after the Kirbys fooled us into coming into this trip. Worse of all, they completely abandoned us at the InGen compound where both Gabrielle and I would have been killed if these men didn't show up all of a sudden.
Who were these men? How long have they been here? Are they friendly or are they just here to kidnap us for ransom?
But they seem to be friendly and genuinely concerned for our safety that they even stitched some of our wounds from the plane crash.
The leader, the same African man that saved us, then came over and asked as a few questions.
"I know you two are confused right now."
"Yes, we are. Who are you? What's your name?" I asked the African mercenary.
"My name is hard to pronounce." The African replied.
"Try me." I added.
"My name is Uvuvwevwevwe Onyetenyevwe Ugwemubwem Ossas." He said.
Gabrielle and I looked at each other stunned.
"Pardon?" Gabrielle asked.
"My long name is Uvuvwevwevwe Onyetenyevwe Ugwemubwem Ossas. You can refer me to as Mr. Ossas. Both is actually a code-name I made myself. My name is actually David Igwe."
Both of us laughed for awhile.
"Well, I'm Gillan. This is my friend Gabrielle. We're from the Philippines." I said.
"How did you get here?" Mr. Ossas asked.
"It's complicated. I invited him to come with me in this trip to Isla Sorna supposedly sponsored by a rich American family for an illegal aerial tour. It turns out it was just a cover for a rescue mission as the family's son has been stranded here since May. They also brought the famous Dr. Allan Grant and his sidekick Billy with us. Our plane was destroyed by a Spinosaurus and two from our group was killed. Gillan and I stayed with the group until we got separated in that building then you found us." Gabrielle said.
"Woah, that's a peculiar story. We did see your plane pass by but apparently the pilots ignored us. We tried signalling them through the radio or even flares but it appears we were intentionally ignored." Mr. Ossas replied. "Over the past few months we see surveillance planes circle above the island and we try to signal them but they never respond. We try to call them by radio yet they ignore us. It's like as if they don't want to rescue as at all." Mr. Ossas replied.
"How long have you been here?" I asked.
"About three months. We were hired by InGen to recover some of the dinosaurs from the 1997 expedition which eventually culminated in the San Diego incident. But then, the expedition went wrong. InGen never learned from their mistakes. They left us here without rescue as it appears they are still trying to pay the damages caused from the 1993 and the 1997 incidents."
"So have you and your men seen a certain Eric Kirby here?" Gabrielle asked. "He's the reason why that American family staged this dangerous rescue mission. From what was told to us, Eric was parasailing here with a friend named Ben when their boat met an accident and they had no choice but to land here."
Mr. Ossas looked stunned. "No, we have not encountered any living soul on this island. You two became the first people we've seen in three months.
Gabrielle and I were shocked.
"We actually came upon the remains of Ben still tied to the parachute. There were no remains of child nearby. The Kirbys believe that Eric is still alive. Of course, we separated from them and we don't know if they are alive or not." I said.
"Well the chances a kid can survive here is null." A mercenary added.
"And what about the group we separated? Do you think they are still alive out there?"
The mercenary nodded his head.
"We gotta give it a try. Strength in numbers." I told Mr. Ossas.
"Too dangerous if you ask me. That's a lot of land to cover."
"Dr. Grant is out there you know. He could be of help to us. After all, he did testify against InGen following San Diego. He mentioned about his involvement in the 1993 Isla Nublar incident and his experiences regarding the raptors InGen bioengineered. Plus, maybe once we add to them our group, we can search for Eric and the rest."
Mr. Ossas and his mercenaries look uncertain.
"Hmm, okay we will try to reconsider that. For now, you two get some rest and we'll talk about this later." Mr. Ossas said. He and his men then leave to take care of other matters.
Gabrielle and I then sat on collapsible bed on the tent, catching our breathe and eating a proper meal. She then embraced me, tears falling from her eyes.
"It's alright. We're alive. Let's keep it that way." I said, returning the embrace.
[AT THIS POINT, I WOKE UP FROM MY DREAM SO THIS IS WHERE IT ENDED.]

Author's Notes:
[1] Jurassic Park III is set from July 18th-20th, 2001. However in my dream, there were modern gadgets such as smartphones and smartwatches hence why I changed the setting to 20XX.
[2] Certified public accountant
[3] What differentiates it from the film. Instead of one Velociraptor, there were two. It is the reason why in my dream my friend and I got separated from Dr. Grant and the group.
