Let us say that in 1992, George H.W. Bush won a second term as president.
The early 1990 were a challenging time in world affairs with Yugoslavia, Russia & the former USSR, North Korea, Taiwan Straits and Iraq.
What American responses would come under an extended Bush presidency to these as opposed to how they were under Clinton?

I was going to ask 'what did Osama and AQ do in 92 to 96?' though I've just remembered the first Twin Towers attack. So what would they do different from the Clinton Administration? |

Help aid Russia transition to Democracy. if Bush did that it may delay Putin.no one hears of Monica the inter dems most likely win 96 and 00.

Would he have opposed the market shock idea that was so popular at the time and the source of a lot of Russia's problems? After all that was more a Reaganite idea for minimal government intervention and encouraging private wealth than the Democrats. If Russia had avoided the mass privatization and the way it was done which meant virtually all the resources went to assorted former bureaucrats and communist figures and a large scale collapse of the rule of law as far as the resulting plutocrats, along with the disappearance of most forms of support for ordinary people then Russia might have avoided the entire Putin disaster.

What about United Nations Operation in Somalia II, would we see the Battle of Mogadishu (1993) happening under Bush Sr. IIRC, when that incident happened (made famous by Black Hawk Down) it took the Clinton Administration by surprise. The Bush Administration sent the troops into Somalia and while they didn't expect that, maybe more attention would be paid to the conflict. |
