I wondered the same thing. The Soviet allies were taken from this map, perhaps there was threat of a socialist revolution under Pinochet. Basically I was just using the best/ worst case scenarios for the soviets and NATO allies to give them as much territory as possible.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_Empire#/media/File:Communist_block.svg
Would the Philippines not be a member of the NATO Treaty as the have a large christian majority, also why is Kenya a member of the Islamic Union, i would think that they are also a member of the NATO Treaty due Kenya being a former British colony. Good calls. This is the updated map, though a lot of it is just random. I tried to keep territories fairly defined, as though it was the result of a global land and sea war.
Do you think it's worth a write up? I'm not the best writer, I'm not every patient but I can give a rough outline if anyone wants to collab on this.

A map for a TL I'm working that's based on an unlikely source of all things: a video game series called Metal Slug:

Well then you just did, though I should note that the games themselves are quite ASB to the max; heck much of the map here was pure guesswork given how little the backstory was in the games.

To be fair I did use the wiki and from the various manuals and some of my imagination to help me out (as well as some historical precedents); though it doesn't help that the mythos seems to be conflicting with itself in the wiki given the origins of the Rebellion faction.

Well the map you made looks good. Well thanks and I'm quite proud of it; though my only regret is not having a lot of people commenting about it since it is a high concept that's basically uncharted territory. That and as I'm working on the TL, it will be subject to retcons but hopefully none too compromising.

Question did you place the number 34 in France because it was to small to be place in former Belgium or am i looking at that wrong.

It's more like the former for the reasons you given, it needs to be seen afterall.

I never thought about that, I just assumed that Belgium would split up if it's facing economic issues.
