Question: in this case, what do Red and Blue represent? Are they Republican and Democratic votes respectively, or precisely the opposite?

Blue = GOP Red = Dem This was actually the color standard until the 2000 election, when they changed it for unknown reasons; Blue is traditionally used everywhere else for Right-wing parties while Red is Left wing parties. Dave Leip's Election Atlas, where the electoral college calculator I used to make this map is from, has kept that format. |
