Very interesting. Knew about the tensions with Germany in 40/41 but never knew there was such conflict with the western powers especially over bombing raids and that Switzerland itself got hit several times by US bombers.

Well my initial thought was WTF as it seemed to be a crazy idea. However given that they were men from the Baltic states who had no opportunity to return home and that many were actually conscripts, plus that many were fluent in both English and German it makes a good deal of sense.
