Late 1979 saw the Iranian Revolution occur followed by the Grand Mosque seizure in Saudi Arabia, the storming & burning of the US Embassy in Islamabad, another similar attack in Libya's Tripoli and then the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
This was quite the volatile time.
How could things have been worse? Which regimes were exposed to direct revolution or the fallout from others?
Is it possible to have further revolutions to rival that in Iran and for outside invasions to occur to forestall one in another country?
