With this incident from the Korean War thread. Hopefully the USAF received the appropriate response.
"OK now we know that the USAF include blind, trigger happy idiots we will ensure that no British aircraft will have any contact with them. Do not waste our time asking for escort or other assistance from our people."
Seems the Americans already forgot 1941 to 1945 when i think, do not know if that happen much, British fighters escorted American bombers.

Its one thing that accidents happen in war, especially if you have inexperienced and poorly trained crews. Its the attitude as with a similar situation in Iraq when a couple of gunge-ho pilots attacked a small force of British vehicles despite them being clearly marked and IIRC radio warnings they were attacking allies. Again the idiots responsible and their superior showed no concern they had screwed up at all.

From today's Korean war entry.
Interesting that Mao was calling for military intervention in Korea at this early stage, when it still looked like the UN forces were trapped in the Pusan pocket and might still be overwhelmed.

So we've reached the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.
Interesting how this thread has made it to the final days of World War II.
I've been following this since 2020.

MONGOLIA Mongolia declared war on Japan. SOVIET-JAPANESE WAR In the north, Soviet forces begin an offensive against the Japanese army occupying Manchukuo (Manchuria) about 10 minutes after midnight. The Soviets have assembled about 1,500,000 troops in three army groups for the operation: 1st Far East Front, 2nd Far East Front and the Transbaikal Front. They are equipped with 3900 aircraft, 5500 tanks and 26,000 artillery tubes. The outnumbered 1,000,000 men of the poorly equipped Japanese Kwantung Army (Yamada) lack armor, artillery and aircraft. Japanese defenses are quickly overcome. Meanwhile, Chinese paratroopers are dropped on the Canton-Hankow rail line. Photo: Soviet troops crossing into Manchuria, 9 August 1945Soviet forces enter Korea. Russian planes sink Japanese Coast Defense Vessel No.82 north of Joshin, Korea, 41°21'N, 131°12'E, and merchant vessels Kasado Maru and No.2 Ryuho Maru off Kamchatka, Sea of Okhotsk. MANCHUKO (JAPANESE PUPPET STATE) Emperor Kangde of the puppet nation of Manchukuo was advised that his capital would soon be relocated from Xinjing (Changchun), Jilin Province, China to Tonghua, Andong Province, China as a response to the Soviet invasion. The only movie about Operation August Storm is a Chinese war movie made in 2001: Purple Sunset - New War Movies English Subtiles HDIMO, the movie is a masterpiece barring the pro-CCP and anti-Japanese propaganda. I also started the TV Tropes page for it.

The T-34 literally steamrolled what Japanese light tanks and emplacements they had.

Soviet UnionThe Soviets gifted a plaque to the U.S. Ambassador to Moscow that was secretly bugged with The Thing, one of the earliest covert listening devices ever invented. It would hang in the Spaso House for seven years until its secret was discovered. Simple History has an episode of it. What was 'The Thing'? (Weird Tech)

Re: Korean War day 50 - Rashin bomb raid. Had to look it up here. Rashin being a NK town 17 mi from Soviet territory made for some concern that its being too close to such.

JAPANESE OCCUPIED FRENCH INDOCHINA (VIETNAM) The Indochinese Communist Party held a meeting in Tan Trao northwest of Hanoi, Tonkin, French Indochina. The meeting was presided over by Ho Chi Minh. The Communists decided to fight the imminent return of the French, and that they would attempt to befriend US and USSR, possibly gaining their support against the French. So this is proof that the Vietnamese communists were really communists but just wanted independence. FDR was willing to pressure France to give Vietnam independence.

Korea day 51 video clearly shows why the Allies with overwhelming Airsuperiority in the West had difficulty in killing Germans - just darn hard to hit with WWII weaponry things on the ground unless you're skilled in that as some were shown to be. Of course German will to fight - unit cohesion - did a lot to it but anyways.
