Well he might suffer the Kennedy effect, his brother was killed in 1968 while running for office. Ooh...that could be a problem. Still, who'd want to assassinate Ted Kennedy? ...Then again, I suppose people living in a TL where all the Kennedy's lived would be baffled at how his brethren got assassinated IOTL. So perhaps there's potential for some out-of-the-blue nutter to score a lucky blow while Ted's on the campaign trail. Maybe that's what dissuaded him from running in at least 1972, even if he wouldn't have publicly admitted to such. Not assassinate, just that people will not choose him as the next president after all what has happen to the two previous Kennedy's.

Well there could be some nutter who thinks they should continue the sequence or possibly someone who's angry at how he escaped repercussions from the Chappaquiddick Incident. or as Lordroel says possibly people avoid supporting him because of the deaths of his two brothers.

That could be interesting but would expect the US to win as it has home advantage while Germany can't commit too much to a war across the Atlantic, even if they could get there because of the tension between them and the Franco-Russians alliance.
I think Lordroel had a thread somewhere where there was some sort of war game of such a conflict? The US winning eventually but both sides losing a lot of ships IIRC.

'One-Termer George W. Bush'. Who is going to be the next president then. If Dubya gets removed for whatever reason, then Dick Cheney’s next in line for the throne. But if Bush loses in 2004, then whoever beats him (i.e. John Kerry) takes over.

What if Herman Goering instead of Von Richthofen was killed in the Great War.

'John B. Anderson Doesn't Run In 1980'.
I suspect he hurt Carter more than Reagan but given Reagan's campaign and Carter's perceived weakness on Iran and the hostages and on the economy I suspect Reagan is still likely to win.

'One-Termer George W. Bush'. George Allen beats incumbent John Kerry in 2008, to the backdrop of the Recession. J.C. Watts, as Allen's Vice President, makes history as the first Black VP.
