Has Man landed on the Moon yet?
And, if they did, was it the Americans, the Soviets, or somebody else?

I knew that Sputnik was just one battle in a war that’d turn the tables in America’s favor eventually! Anyways, that’s a shame you guys don’t have widespread flying cars. But what about robot servants, do people have those in their homes in this future of yours?

Interesting. What is Great England please, in terms of territory, population and the like? Here we have a country called Great Britain of which the largest party is England. It used to be both a great power and ruling a large empire but most of that is gone and the rest being prepared for independence and its pretty much restricted to the British Isles. Given the costs of a space programme going as far as the moon is it a more successful state in your world or basically a relatively minor co-worker in the moon landings? Both in our time [1965] and yours [2018]. Being English/British myself its of interest to me how their faring in your world.

Sounds like its a technology still on the edge and not fully developed yet. Are the robots basically machines or do they have their own capacity for independent thought? If so is there something like Asimov's 3 Laws - the invention of a science fiction writer in our world, to prevent then harming humans [and also reducing human hostility towards robots].

In my world England is still a world superpower after u.s. and china Canada is province of Great England. Robots have no intelligence and need to be remote controlled..Man has yet to land on mars but robots have been sent on deep space missions and on mars recently. The military and law enforcement also use robots.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds a bit odd that Canada and 'England' are politically united. Has there been a lot of tension with the US in the past? Thinking this might be a driver for the two nations so far away from each other to stay politically united.
Which makes me think what is the size and population of Canada compared to England? In our world Canada is the 2nd largest country in the world with a boundary west of the Great Lakes with the US along the 49th parallel, although the latter does have Alaska in the north west, which it purchased from Russia in 1867. Similarly how large is England in territorial terms please? Does it include Scotland, Wales or any of Ireland. Here the union includes England, Scotland, Wales and the northern part of Ireland.
With the robots sounds more like their programmable machine more than sentient in their own right. Still useful but potentially a lot less powerful. Assume there are still films and the like about robots turning on humanity and trying to take over the world?
Thanks for the reply.

Who’s the US President in your version of 2018? Obviously, it’s most likely someone who I’m unfamiliar with (maybe even someone who hasn’t been born yet, from my perspective).
Could you provide a synopsis of who they are and what they’re about, please?
Thank you in advance, Zyobot

If Alaska is part of Russia... does that mean there's an influential figure called "Sara Palinova" in Russian politics ?
