Though it's generally held that the God-Emperor or Void Dragon fills their void, I wonder if there are other possibilities as to who the Machine God is? In fact, I'm especially curious as to whether the Mechanicus's collective belief in their deity could actually create one in the Immaterium--thereby making their sacred Machine God real? If so, then I'm interested in speculating how such a being would be beyond just the Tech Priests' narrative, i.e. its power levels compared to the Chaos Gods or visual depiction (i.e. a sentient mass of gears or towering robot from the Dark Age of Technology).

That's probably the most likely possibility (and one of two most explored ones), but it doesn't quite address my question. My question is whether the Adeptus Mechanicus's belief in the Machine God could actually create one in the Warp, and how the resulting Warp deity would be if it does indeed exist?

So aside from the Iron Men and some isolated instances, do we know if certain players like the Dark Mechanicum have seriously experimented with Abominable Intelligence on a large scale (i.e. at least approaching or comparable to the Droid Armies from Star Wars)? One guess I'll hazard--though not to a very committed extent--is that even freed from the rigid, stagnation-prone dogmatism of their Imperial counterparts, more sensible Hereteks would be more cautious about AI, due to Chaos Space Marines probably harboring a dislike for it. Of course, if they're willing to operate alongside f--king daemon engines, then common sense would imply that by their own standards, advanced robotics and automation should also be within the Overton Window (if there even is such a thing when it comes to Chaos). ...Then again, maybe sheer Warp derangement keeps them in an inconsistent, illogical perceptual rut that stops them from connecting the dots . Furthermore, exploring the ramifications if the answer were 'yes', then I wonder how a Dark Mechanicum that takes a far more liberal approach to ubiquitous AI would look in practice. In addition to warlords running amok with their own private robot armies and the Imperium doubling down on its fear and hatred of thinking machines, could we also see more lofty things like robot fleets and AI Forge Worlds as well? And maybe on the more extreme end of the spectrum, possible attempts to create a robot body for the Machine God to inhabit in real-space (assuming that some crazed fanatic(s) attempts to summon them into the Materium or something like that)?

For those with a membership on AH.com, I’m wondering if any 40K fans might find this crossover an enjoyable read? Dropping the Black Legion into a Galaxy far, far away and consumed by war of its own has already made for a TL-diverting story thus far, never mind the more cumulative changes to come.

In fact, the Empire and Resistance don’t exist in the same era IOTL.

So here's a scene that probably deserves to be made famous, at least within the Warhammer 40K fan community. Animating an Exterminatus in VR form is nothing to sneeze at, I don't think.

Warhammer 40,000 Exterminatus in VR - VRChatDo not think you want to be on a planet when that happens. Well, of course not. It's like the Death Star blowing up Alderaan in A New Hope, but slower and more drawn out so that surface dwellers scream, cry and cower before being obliterated in a worldwide sea of nuclear fire. Though, considering how drenched in blood and horror the Warhammer 40K universe is already, such a fate is probably rather merciful compared to what the enemies of the Imperium would do if they established a lasting foothold instead.

I'm surprised to have not posted this yet. But given my revived interest in the fifth of the Ruinous Powers as of late, here's the corresponding content from 40K Theories.

Now here's something more exotic than I usually tend to find online.
Which planets in Warhammer 40k could really exist?

I don't usually bother with WH40k but actually some interesting info on what sort of factors affect planetary formation and biospheres.
