I've been playing with an idea of a Star Wars fic where a future-history setting that I've been developing called 'A New World: A World of Conflict and Sorrow' ends up in the galaxy far, far away and due to how that setting is, immediately starts derailing the plot.
To give you an idea about this timeline, it is very pro-authoritarian (in the 'humans, in general, are shit,especially if they've got a pet ideology they want to enforce so we've got to ensure that sort of thing doesn't happen' way), anti-democratic ('unlimited' democracy is thoroughly discredited, to the point that everyone has some sort of restriction to vote, be minimum public service, a certain tax bracket, or a certain number of stocks), anti-privacy (because you've got no shortage of idiots with more ideology than sense who now have access to biotech that would make modern-day bioweapon programs mass murder for), anti-freedom of information (partially because the democratization of information is the reason that the setting became what it is, partially because DeepFakes became so prevalent, and partially because memetic weapons that literally remove free will from the equation exist), anti-freedom of the press (turns out that the press aren't your friend, especially since they've exuberated the situation in the setting so laws were instituted to restrain them), very pro-globalization (in the sense that 'you can avoid this future if you are pro-globalist' and thus be for international trade or else), and very transhumanistic.
Something akin to the uncanny valley but with a human face, so to speak, for the greater galaxy... and something that derails the Sith's plans for they have no real counter to them.
