They do field static strategic artillery and very large self-propelled and towed guns, but the nature of modern combat does not lend itself towards railway guns. The last time they saw employment was during the static phase of the Korean War in 1952-53. |

They do field static strategic artillery and very large self-propelled and towed guns, but the nature of modern combat does not lend itself towards railway guns. The last time they saw employment was during the static phase of the Korean War in 1952-53. Does any country like the Germans ore even the Americans have railway artillery, just asking because recently i mange to see a Krupp K5 called "Leopold" at the Batterie Todt museum, near Audinghen in northern France and i was thinking that they still could be of use if they fired something like nuclear artillery shells.  |

No, any guns of that size are static. There are the Dover Guns and the British Army's strategic artillery in Wales; three large French guns aimed towards the East; and a number of inactive US Army 36" howitzers.
Mobile superheavy guns are between 16" and 24" in calibre.

Not really, as the British Empire is on a different level of power to France. The era of contingency plans to take on the world are the preserve of the superpowers and even then, the US and Britain haven't made plans for war since the 1920s. Both countries have thermonuclear weapons and are right next door to each other, making any conflict a self-destructive step.
Their rivalry is concentrated on the political level, but the leadership of both the British and French Empires don't really take it seriously.
In any case, there is a huge jump from an obsolete war plan and actively aiming nuclear capable artillery at a neighbour that they are allied with under three separate treaties and who they have fought alongside in two World Wars.

Belgium Notes:
- Keen eyed observers will note some strong similarities with the Dutch Army. This is because of the very strong links between the two nations and particularly their efforts at military coordination. Their corps are designed to operate with each other.
- Their second major role is contributing to a lighter force to go into Denmark, consisting of the Paracommando Division, the Dutch Airborne Division, the Royal Netherlands Marine Division and Luxembourg's sole division. This allows Britain, Canada and the USA to concentrate on Norway and Sweden, the Germans on Jutland and the French Rapide Action Force to be held as AFCENT reserves.
- Just as the Dutch need to modernise their equipment, Belgium is also using a great deal of wartime surplus and has some expensive decisions to make.
- Chief needs are tanks, light anti-aircraft guns and missiles and artillery.
- The Royal Belgian Navy is designed for coastal defence, minesweeping and operations alongside the Dutch in the North Sea.
- In the air, the Belgians need to replace their Vixens, Deltas, Javelins and Hunters very soon and the Canberras by the late 60s. More expensive choices.

It is far more advanced than that arrangement, with a full decade of increasing defence ties, standardisation and cooperation. It is one aspect of the drive towards an effective union, as each state is too small to stay fully afloat in a very different European environment.
There isn't a separate Allied Command for the English Channel, as the Royal Navy covers that role.
