Oh, so he never went into politics before becoming president? Why were you ashamed in mentioning his name? Because he is a idiot. Also you mentioned that your president is Martin Luthier King. Well that sentiment is shared by some people here, although a lot of New Yorker’s love him. I actually did not, the president right now is Gary Johnson. (MLK was president from ‘74 to ‘85) |

Wouldn't that give him 2+ terms and I thought the US had used a constitutional amendment to stop any President having more than two terms after the FDR years?

He was the Vice President when Nixon was impeached and he resigned. So actually he still only went for two terms. Plus we don’t have that restriction since most only go to the transitional two terms. Only 4 presidents had more than two terms. |

Only 4 presidents had more than two terms. Whe only had one and he served fout terms before he died in Office. |

As Lordroel said one US President served 4 terms, or part of, Franklin D Roosevelt, who died a few months into his 4th terms. As a result of that the US here passed an amendment which formally restricted Presidents to 2 terms, although if one was a VP who gained the Presidency if it was more than half way through that term they could still stand for two more terms.

Ok thanks. A bit surprising with changes that early the others and 20thC events seem so similar to OTL but both Roosevelt's managing 4 complete terms would have some while Lincoln not being assassinated could have had some big impacts on both reconstruction and also his reputation in following years.

That’s the way it is. But yes reconstruction went smoothly except for some trouble with some klan but they were disbanded and arrested. Lincoln is pretty much the best president we’ve had, he’s always ranked 1 in a best presidents list. |
