I have some modest suggestions for the site, just ideas.
1) The British Politics thread. Does it need to be 'Official'? Can I suggest it be renamed General like the US Pol one? 2) ASB board? Maybe it needs a rename? That term is an ah.com thing. Promote the magic or other world angle and relegate, even do away, with ASB. 3) I don't know how but maybe give more prominence to the Future History board? I think it might be a bigger draw for posters. As said, not sure how with that.
What do you think @lordroel ? Anyone else with any ideas?

(2) Well i would like to do that, but many people who post in the ASB now the meaning ASB and thus now they must post there for all the ASB and other weird stuff. (3) Again i like that, but Future History seems to be less popular that Before ore After 1900 boards.

* necro thread apologies but it was my thread* I have been thinking about how to grow the forum more than it is. I like to read about alternate elections though have rarely done any of my own. I have several ideas on paper, some of which are very recent events though. I think that we could gain new users if we had a prominent alternate elections section where it is openly encouraged that this is for elections. I have done a very few ones in Chat, and Zyobot has done many ASB ones, but with Chat those are hidden to non-members who might want to join to post their own. There is another site I am a member of, Vote UK Forum. It has an alternate political history section: vote-2012.proboards.com/board/60/alternate-political-history and it is (relatively) busy. I don't think we should copy that - and they have a massive userbase of British political knowledge - but something similar. It will mark us out as different from ah.com too. I was thinking that maybe we could use the Shared Worlds board here as it already mentions election games. Could it be retitled as maybe Shared Worlds and Alternate Elections, maybe even give alternate elections a sub-board within its own name, but still make it clear on the site's front page that this is where alternate elections go. I can see an issue with current politics outside of Chat but is that a rule we really need to be so harsh on? It can be applied too on other sites. As said, just a suggestion. If not, I'll try to stick my ideas for alternate elections in Chat or After 1900 but I do think this idea of mine could have potential to grow us.

No need to apologies James G , a member who creates a thread can post in it, the rule only applies to members who have not created a thread and decide to post in it after there has not been posted there in while. Well i could make a subforum in Politics and Current Affairs concerning political what ifs and political alternate history if that is what you am thinking of.

For years on alternate history boards, while conflicts are dominant, politics and thus elections are a close second behind them in interests. I'm thinking we can grow by encouraging people to join to add their own thoughts and, subsequently, create more ideas.

Will call it Alternate History: Politics & Governance.

I was thinking about the new 'Naval what ifs and Neverwhere ships Cabin' forum. It's grown quite a bit, more than I would have thought. What about aircraft and tanks/armoured vehicles too? Could we have a sub-forum within for 'Weapons Other Than Ships'? There are plenty of aircraft and tanks proposed but never built and I'm sure many discussions to be had.

If others are allowed to post on here, my suggestion is renaming the Naval Board to a general military board, some may be intersted more in land and aerial conflicts.

Every member is welcomed to post here and make suggestions on improving the forum. Regarding you suggestion of renaming the Naval Board to a general military board is good, i could make the current Naval Board for unbuilt and cancelled ships while making the general military board for all what ifs, battles and such, but i am worried i come in conflict with the current Pre and After 1900 boards where also a lot of that stuff is on.

I think that we should see how we go for now with the sub-boards. We have more naval/warship fans here and, after all, back in the olden days, this was a naval-focused website.
