Hummingbird (2013) I watched this last night. It wasn't brilliant but not as bad as feared either. It was overdone in places and needed to get rid of stereotypes too much of cockney Londonders. I cringed at one small thing. This is a British film set in Britain. Who would say the 'Department of Defence' when talking about the MOD: I wanted to scream at the TV 'it is the ministry!'. Unless it’s alternate reality where it is a department instead of a ministry.

I remember the movie called u-571 where the same thing happen, where it was the heroic Americans who got the hands on the Enigma machine instead of OTL British.

There's quite a lot of that goes on, not just with the US but as the most prominent movie producer and a pretty insular one often its seen more than most. After all think of the Magnificent Seven. Although admittedly in that case I can't see the original getting much attention in the west and not aware of it ever being shown on TV in Britain which is a pity as its a damned good film. Saw it at a film club at uni in the 80s. Love the exchange between the villagers and the wise man in the mountains when he suggests they hire some samurai to protect them.
villager - but samurai fight for gold, we're farmers. We only have food.
wise man - then find hungry samurai.

I went to see It 2 tonight. It was okay. It could have been better, and shorter too, though.

I saw Scary stories to tell in the dark on Friday night. Not very good at all. There were no scary stories to be told!

Watched Spectral, the Netflix original film tonight. Overall enjoyable; I like how they made the connection between the uncertainty inherent in an insurgency and the uncertainty of a supernatural horror movie.

Breaking Bad fans?
They've done a movie. At the end of the TV series, WW died as far as I was concerned. But, of course, no one explicitly said he was dead. I wonder if it will be any good?
